Movin' On Up-- Keller's second place finish in Chicago pushed him from seventh to third in the points; 359 points out of first place. This season the South Carolina native has posted six top-5's, nine top-10's and has spent 19 consecutive weeks in the top-10 in points. These next three races will be important for Keller as he dominates the flat tracks on the circuit. Keller posted a seventh place finish at New Hampshire last year and two second place finishes at Pikes Peak and IRP in 2003.
New Hampshire Bound...Jason Keller is coming off a week of relaxation with his family and a race in Chicago that brought home a second place finish and pushed him to third in the points. On top of that, Keller enters the race this weekend as a past winner of this event. The series veteran posted the fifth win of his career here in May of 2001; passing Kevin Harvick in the closing laps to take the checkered flag. Keller has one win, two top-5's and five top-10's at this track and he's ready to add victory number one of his 2004 season to his list of accomplishments this year.
Cold Pizza Anyone?--Keller spent his Tuesday afternoon in the Big Apple filming an episode of Cold Pizza for ESPN 2. The series veteran appeared on the quirky sports show with Miller High Life legendary driver, Bobby Allison. Allison and Keller were interviewed by the show's host, Kit Hoover on 34th Street where Keller's No. 22 Miller High Life show car appeared for the one-day shoot. The show aired on ESPN 2 on July 20th from 9-11:00 a.m.
The Car--The Miller High Life crew will bring car #57-15 to the track this weekend. This is the same car that Keller drove at Gateway, Nazareth and Milwaukee this year, posting finishes of third, fourth, and third, respectively.
Keller on his finish at Chicago-- "Our car was pretty fast all day, but unfortunately we couldn't show it throughout the race. Then we ran out of gas after coming up one lap short on our pit stop. Then at the end there, when other cars had to come in and pit, we kind of got lucky, because we had already done our stop. Things just seemed to go our way last Saturday. That's just the way racing is, it always seems to have a way of eventually working itself out. And fortunately for us, we had some good luck on our side last weekend in Chicago."
Keller on being a guest on ESPN 2's Cold Pizza-- "I know this will be an honor for my sponsor, Miller High Life. They are really excited for me to be on the show and I'm looking forward to sharing some old stories with Bobby Allison and the cast of Cold Pizza. It will be an exciting day for sure."
Keller on his win here in 2001--"I have some good and bad memories every time I go to New Hampshire. I won there the year after Adam's (Petty) death and I wanted to win so that I could dedicate it in his memory. So I have a lot of good feelings about this track because I've won here before, but at the same time, I have a few bad ones because of Adam's death."
