Driver quotes following second-round Busch Pole qualifying for the Las Vegas 300 NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Joe Bessey No. 6 Power Team Chevrolet

"The car has been real good all day. Yesterday's time shows no reflection of what we were yesterday. I knew we were borderline yesterday of making the top-25, so I tried to squeeze that extra little bit out of the car and I just lost it. The guys didn't really want to requalify today because they knew we were going to be in the show, but I knew starting 26th would be a lot better than standing on our time. This track is so smooth, and yes, I think it can give you a false sense of security going into the corners. Just ask those six guys who have wrecked here. But I think we're going to have a great race Sunday, and I think there's going to be a lot of side-by-side, two and three-wide racing. Goodyear has an excellent tire for this track, and the track is just perfect. I can't wait to get started."

Terry Labonte No. 5 Bayer Chevrolet

"We're pretty much a middle-of-the-pace threat right now. We're still working on it. We tried some new stuff, and I didn't like it, so we're going to go back to the way we were. I guess it's a good thing Dale Jarrett and I have two good (NASCAR) Winston Cup cars. Our two Busch cars aren't too good right now. I've got a good car, but the motor isn't where it should be right now. Dale and I, the two Winston Cup point leaders, should have a heck of a race Sunday in the middle of the pack."

Joe Nemechek No. 87 BellSouth Mobility Chevrolet

"I'm going to say I would be the favorite to win Sunday. We came here to win this race. We came here to sit on the pole, and we came up a couple of spots short. We'll take third. I think we've got a pretty awesome car, and we're due to win one of these races. We've been strong for the past two years. We've led a lot of races, and haven't been able to pull off a victory. It would be nice to do it here. Anything can happen in these races. It's not going to be a runaway. There's too many other smart teams and drivers out here. We're going to do our best. A few cars are running strong right now. Todd Bodine is running good. We're strong. I think you're going to see a lot of green flag racing, so we're going to see who's going to be the best after 60 laps or 100 laps. We've got 70 laps on a set of tires, and they're still running the same as we started. I don't think tires will be a factor. Goodyear did a good job. They tested this tire here over the winter. We ran it an Atlanta, and it ran good. It's awesome here."

Greg Sacks No. 45 Hunter Specialties Pontiac

"We really didn't have to requalify today, but we made some changes and wanted to see how they work. We were down on horsepower yesterday. We made major changes to the carburetion and that should help a lot. This is such a great race track. If you get into a turn a little too high, there is room enough to back out of it and get back on it without getting into the wall. It is a very forgiving track."

Elton Sawyer No. 38 Barbasol Ford

"We're happy to be starting sixth with our Ford. They don't pay for where you start but it's always nice to be in the top-10. The car is working good on new tires but picks up a little push when they begin to wear. That's what we'll be working on in the last practice session."

Michael Waltrip No. 21 Band-Aid Ford

"We had too high a gear yesterday. We've changed that and it should make a difference. We'll see in the final practice session. I have confidence in my crew."

Buckshot Jones No. 00 Aquafresh Pontiac

"We've got a good starting position and we're really competitive with the Chevrolets, especially here where there is room to race side by side. We think we can make an excellent showing tomorrow."
