Kluever To Throw Out First Pitch For Madison Mallards

CONCORD, N.C. - It's not quite Fenway Park, but the Duck Pond at Warner Park in Madison, Wisc., is where Todd Kluever will be throwing out the first pitch when he returns home next week. Kluever will throw the first pitch and sign autographs before the Madison Mallards game on Wednesday, June 20.

"I am really excited to do this," Kluever said. "When I lived in Wisconsin I went to the Mallards' games a lot with my friends. When I was sitting in the stands at those games I never once thought that I'd be throwing out the first pitch for them. Those games are a lot of fun. I'll be sitting in the stands after I'm done to enjoy the game with my friends and family like I used to do.

"I threw out the first pitch at a Minnesota Twins game last summer, but I think there is more pressure this time. I'm sure there will be more people that I know in the stands at this game. My pitch was a bit to the right of the plate at the Twins game, so hopefully this time the catcher will make a little more effort to catch my pitch."

The Mallards will be playing the Battle Creek (Mich.) Bombers. Kluever will sign autographs from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. (CDT) and the game starts at 7:05 p.m. (CDT).
