MILLER TIME -- Miller returns to the driver's seat of the REESE'S Chevrolet this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. Miller will be making just his sixth career Busch Series start. Miller has never competed on many of the Busch Series tracks, including Kentucky.
TESTING 1, 2, 3 -- On May 17-18, Miller and the REESE'S Racing team tested at Kentucky Speedway. Miller quickly adapted to the track and car. During the two-day test, the team worked on the car and made strides in the right direction in preparation for this weekend's event.
REESE'S CHEVY PREVIOUSLY AT NASHVILLE -- The REESE'S Chevy has finished in the top-10 in one of two starts at Kentucky Speedway. In 2003 Johnny Sauter started 11th and finished 10th. In 2004 Clint Bowyer started 12th and finished 17th. However, REESE'S Racing driver Kevin Harvick went to victory lane in 2001 driving the ACDelco Chevrolet.
SUPERSPEEDWAY TESTING -- Miller tested an ARCA car this week at Talladega Superspeedway. This is Miller's second time testing an ARCA car for Richard Childress Racing this season.
OWNERS' POINTS -- The REESE'S Racing team is fifth in the Busch Series Owners' Points Standings, 136 points from the top spot.
THE CAR -- This week, crew chief Rick Viers will load chassis No. 040 on the REESE'S transporter. Miller tested the car on May 17-18 at Kentucky Speedway. The car has not seen any action this season. However, Harvick and Clint Bowyer drove it to five top-five finishes last season.
QUICK QUOTES AND NOTES
Chew chief Rick Viers on the Kentucky test -- "Brandon adapted really fast to the track at the test. He felt really good about the car and was able to turn some really fast laps. The track is really smooth and really fast. I look for Brandon to be right up there in the hunt this weekend."
Brandon Miller on the Kentucky test -- "We had a really good test at Kentucky. I adapted to the track really well and was able to turn some really quick laps. We worked on several different set-ups over the course of two days, but at the end the car was feeling really good."
Kevin Harvick on Brandon Miller -- "Brandon has come from the same go-kart series that I drove in. He was fortunate to go overseas and travel all over the country and do a lot of things in go-karts. He also drove late models and was pretty successful. He is in a pressure cooker situation with the REESE'S Chevy. He needs to go out and do what he knows how to do and drive the car. Once he stops worrying about everything around him and does what he knows best, he will be just fine. He just needs some seat time and experience. I think down the road he will be a major player week in and week out."
