CAP Racing Notes & Quotes:
After a sixth place finish at Nashville Superspeedway, Ashton Lewis, Jr. and the Civil Air Patrol crew looks forward to following it up with another strong finish under the lights at the Kentucky Speedway on Saturday evening in the Meijer 300. Presently 15th in the NASCAR Busch Series point's standings, the team has their eyes set on battling their way into the top-10 in the coming weeks.
Driver, Ashton Lewis, Jr. on Kentucky: "Kentucky is another one of those 1.5 mile relatively flat race tracks that we seem to run very well at. In the two events that have been held at Kentucky we have been very competitive, running in the top-five or top-10. Last year we were running third in the final laps when we were forced to pit under green then got caught a lap down by a caution. Two years ago we left with a top-five finish, so in all I feel like we have this place figured out pretty well."
Crew Chief, Charlie Lewis on Kentucky: "Everything comes into play at Kentucky...your aero package, horsepower and handling. If you have got all three, you've got a good shot at sitting in victory lane at the end of the day. Fuel strategy is also a big factor here. You'll see a lot of green flag runs so you have to put a lot of consideration into fuel management. We've had some great finishes at Kentucky and Ashton really knows how to get around the track. We're taking back the same car we competed with last year with just a few minor adjustments in our set-up. Overall, we're anticipating another strong run this weekend at Kentucky."
Equipment: Ashton Lewis, Jr. will compete with chassis No. 5, better known as Clovis, this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. This is the same chassis Lewis, Jr. competed with at last season's Kentucky event finishing 11th and at Lowe's Motor Speedway earlier in the season finishing 8th.
