Matt Kenseth came out on top after a wreck filled Arizona Travel 200 at Phoenix International Raceway.
Carl Edwards grabbed the lead with 26 to go after taking two tires during a late race pit stop. Edwards, however, couldn't hold off the hard charging car of Kenseth, who on four fresh tires easily passed Edwards for the lead.
Several late race cautions slowed Kenseth's progress and set up a green/white/checker finish. An accident on the last lap sealed Kenseth's victory; he led 125 of 202 laps.
"I tired to change it up a little bit," said Kenseth. "On the one before that (restart) Mike Wallace kind of ran me up in the marbles, and I had the start all messed up. So, I saw them laying back a little bit.my Fusion handled great all day. Jimmy (Fennig, crew chief) and the guys do a great job with the cars. They built a special short track car; they have done a lot to get our Busch program going."
2006 Busch Series Champion Kevin Harvick was second, with Denny Hamlin, Clint Bowyer and Carl Edwards completing the top five.
Sam Hornish making his first NASCAR start made contact with the wall early but with minimal damage. Hornish started 27th fell back into the deep 30's after just 24 laps, but managed to hang in there despite being a lap down. On lap 186, however, Hornish got caught up in an accident, ending his afternoon. He finished 35th.
"Wish we could have driven a few more laps, our goal today was to finish the race," said Hornish. "I really have to thank Mobil 1 for giving us the opportunity it didn't turn out like we hoped it would."
Fellow open-wheeler Juan Pablo Montoya had a slightly better day. He bounced of the wall on lap 186, but managed to stay on the lead lap. A few laps later, with ten to go, Montoya spun but managed to turn the car around and keep racing. He earned a 20th place result.
There were 11 cautions for 49 laps and seven lead changes among five drivers.
