"Our lap was pretty good. Our final lap in practice we were on sticker tires and we ran a .80, which was our fastest lap, so we felt that we could go faster than that. I think I got through one and two probably real close to as good as Michael (Waltrip), and three and four, I knew I didn't good through as good as I should have, so I think that's where I lost most of our time."
YOU TESTED HERE A FEW WEEKS AGO. HOW MUCH OF THAT INFORMATION IS STILL PERTINENT WITH THE CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS?
"There's a lot that's out, but the test really did help us still. It was still windy when we were here and the temperature was a lot hotter, so that's a big difference and the track's just got a bunch more grip in it today. It's about a second faster than when we were here testing. A lot of it is gone but we started pretty close to where we were and we haven't been too far off since we've been here."
YOU ARE CURRENTLY EIGHTH IN POINTS, OUTSIDE OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP PICTURE, SO WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH TOMORROW?
"It's a goal of ours to finish in the top 10 and we're there right now, so we just need to stay there. We need to finish races and finish up front. Another goal was to win a race. We've come pretty close, we haven't come close enough, obviously, but if we keep working hard hopefully we get that opportunity to win a race this year."
WHAT ARE YOUR IMPRESSIONS OF THE NEW RULES?
"Where I was on the race track, we were usually half of a lap or three-quarters of a lap behind the leaders, so when the yellows came out we just slowed down and it wasn't a real big issue for me at Dover. I had that question a few times and it was really pretty easy the way it all went. On that, both ways where we raced all day, the whole deal didn't affect us all. I think it was probably a little safer."
WILL LAPPED CARS BE MORE AGGRESSIVE WHEN THE LEADER TRIES TO PASS THEM WITH THE NEW RULES?
"It doesn't matter unless you can beat the leader, pass the leader, and unusually lapped cars don't race with the leader. Now that might be somebody that gets two laps down and has a real good car is definitely going to race the leader and that might cause for some for problems. That's the only way you can do it to get your lap back. There are goods and bads about it, but it's moving in the right direction."
