ROCKINGHAM, N.C. - Jimmie Johnson and the No. 92 ALLTEL Racing crew finished Saturday's Sam's Club 200 in 13th position, one spot higher than where they qualified.

Johnson battled a loose car early in the race, dropping to 23rd position by lap 27. A caution flag thrown on lap 26 and a pit stop on lap 28 allowed the ALLTEL crew to change four tires, add fuel and adjust the car's handling. After the stop, Johnson ran consistently between 22nd and 23rd positions.

On lap 81, the ALLTEL crew completed another pit stop for four tires and fuel, allowing Johnson to gain three positions coming out of the pits. From lap 84 to lap 135, Johnson maintained his position staying on the lead lap and battling with the leaders.

Johnson began his upward climb after his third and final pit stop for four tires and fuel, gaining four positions in 14 laps at one point. With two cautions in the final 15 laps, Johnson and the No.92 ALLTEL Monte Carlo were in 14th position for a one-lap shootout to the end of the race. When the checkered flag dropped on the final lap of the race, Johnson made one more pass, finishing in 13th position.

"The car gave us a little trouble at the beginning of the race," Johnson said. "But the ALLTEL team got the car back on track and we finally got our rhythm."

The finish also moved the ALLTEL team back into 10th position in driver's points.

The NASCAR Busch Series makes its next stop at Memphis Motorsports Park Sunday. The Sam's Town 250 airs live on TNN. The telecast will start at 1:00 p.m. EST.
