Johnny Sauter has been fined and docked driver's points for the use of inappropriate language after the NASCAR Busch series event at Las Vegas. Sauter must cough up $10,000 and loses 25 Busch series driver's points.

The 25 point set-back moves Sauter from second to fourth in championship rankings. NASCAR President Mike Helton warned all NASCAR drivers at Rockingham that the use of offensive language would not be tolerated, and swift and appropriate action would be taken by NASCAR against any driver violating the warning.

Sauter was penalized under Section 12-4-A of the NASCAR Rule Book (Actions detrimental to stock car racing: Use of improper language) for his comments during a post-race broadcast interview.

Sauter also drives the No. 30 RCR Chevy for Richard Childress Racing in the Nextel Cup series.
