Jeff Green On The End Of The Season: Jeff Green, 2000 NASCAR Busch Series Champion and driver of the No. 10 Nestlé Nesquik Ford Taurus, is racing his last event for ppc Racing this weekend at Miami.
"It certainly will be a bittersweet weekend at Miami," said Green. "It will be my last race with my Nesquik Racing team and while I know I've made the right decision for my career by moving to Richard Childress Racing next year, it still doesn't make it any easier leaving these guys. We've created so much success together over the past three years and it is still hard to comprehend that this will be our last race as a team. That is one of the reasons losing last weekend at Rockingham was so tough, because I want to have as much fun and win as many races with them before I leave. We have one more opportunity to put the Nesquik Ford in victory lane this weekend in Miami, and it would mean everything to me to be able to part ways with these guys with a win."
Green on The Homestead Track: Green shares his thoughts on the track at Miami.
"Homestead tends to be a fuel-mileage event every year, so you have to plan the right pit strategy to be in contention at the end of the day," said Green. "The race typically has long green flag runs, so when you pit can really determine how your day will end. Our Nesquik Race team has performed really well at the flat tracks this season, so I think we will have a great shot at winning at Miami this weekend."
Equipment: Green and his Nesquik Racing team are taking a brand new car to the Homestead-Miami Speedway. The car has only been on the track once, during their test at Miami one week ago.
Homestead Test: Green and the Nesquik Racing team, as well as Jason Keller and the Albertson's Racing team, tested at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on Monday, October 29th and Tuesday, October 30th.
"We had a really awesome test session," said Green. "Both cars were very fast. The fastest lap for the Nesquik Ford was 35.40 seconds and the Albertson's car ran a 35.51. There were approximately eight cars at the test and no other team broke into the 35 second range. That gives us a lot of confidence for the race this weekend, knowing that both teams were that fast. The Nesquik car we tested there is brand new and we tried some new things with the body of the car. The car was almost perfect, so I can't wait to get back in it this weekend and hopefully into victory lane."
Jeff Green Appearance: Green will be signing autographs on Thursday, November 8th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ford Fan Appreciation Day held at the Miccosukee Resort and Casino in Miami, FL. <pre> Jeff Green / Homestead-Miami Speedway Statistics:
