FULLER FINISHES 27TH IN LAS VEGAS
LAS VEGAS -- Jeff Fuller and the Heritage Consumer Products Racing Team traveled west to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Sam's Town 300 on Saturday. Upon arrival Fuller and the team were greeted by an entry list of 66 drivers, including 20 Winston Cup regulars. Fuller knew the first challenge of making the race would be the biggest challenge of the weekend. Fuller was up to the task as he qualified the Heritage Consumer Products Chevrolet in the 24th position. In doing so, Fuller became one of only 18 Busch Grand National regulars to make all three races to date, and one of the few to have not used a provisional in doing so.
As race day arrived, Fuller and the team were ready for battle. Following an early exit in Rockingham, Fuller was more determined than ever to record a strong finish. Fuller managed to avoid three early race accidents as he began to settle into racing position. Following the three wrecks, the rest of the Sam's Town 300 was run under green flag conditions, leaving little time to make adjustments during the pit stops. As the race wore on, Fuller battled hard for a position inside the top-twenty before ending the day in 27th.
"I am real proud of the effort of the entire team in making all of the races so far," Fuller said. "We have learned a lot in these three races and hopefully we can put it all together and have a strong afternoon in Atlanta."
Mark Martin held off Joe Nemechek to win the race. Twelve of the top-twenty- five finishers were Winston Cup drivers.
The Busch Series will now head to Atlanta Motor Speedway for racing action on Saturday March 13th at 1:00pm EST. Performance Racing Network and ESPN will provide live coverage of the event.
