Clermont, Indiana - - Hermie Sadler needs a break. After placing 21st and scoring his 13th top-25 finish last Saturday afternoon from Pikes Peak International Raceway, the SCORE Motorsports team heads to Indianapolis Raceway Park looking for some much needed luck.
Just as it seems things begin to head in the right direction, the monkey returns taking the teams confidence and turning it into frustration. Hopefully Saturday's night Kroger 200 will be a race that the team won't soon forget.
Heading into IRP this weekend, Sadler has eight starts at the Clermont based track. Hermie has a career best start of third which occurred in 1994, while motoring a career best finish of sixth in 1995. The former Raybestos Rookie-of-the-Year winner would like to claim his fourth-career pole this weekend, while also look towards a topnotch finish for his Bryant Stith owned team.
The SCORE Motorsports team will invade the track this weekend, looking for their first top-ten finish of the season. The team has obviously had a few obstacles this season, but as the season has progressed the team continues to learn and try to turn their season around.
"We really need some luck," said Mark Westrick of The FanZCar . "Everyone knows that Hermie can get the job done, we just need to get rid of this dark cloud hovering over our head and prove to everyone that we have what it takes to run upfront."
Sadler maintains the 22nd position in the NASCAR Busch Series standings. A good run on Saturday night would allow the team to continue to gain points with hopes of climbing into the top 15 by seasons end.
Earlier this week, SCORE announced that East Tennessee Trailers (ETT) will return to the hood of the No. 02 Chevrolet Monte Carlo as the primary sponsor for this weekend's event.
"Once we started using ETT Trailers for our show car programs and I found out more about the quality and prices of the trailers, I felt being a dealer would be a great opportunity for us," said Hermie Sadler, who also competes in the premier series of NASCAR.
"East Tennessee Trailers is a great company and their products are top of the line and I'm proud to have them associated with SCORE Motorsports. We have a car we are very confident in for this weekend at IRP. I'm really looking forward to this weekend."
In addition, The FanZCar, Zapf Creation, and Jenkins & Jenkins Law Firm will join the No. 02 machine as associate sponsors this weekend.
Sadler will once again pull double duty competing in both the Busch Series, and Cup Series this weekend. The NASCAR Nextel Cup Series will compete just a few miles down from IRP at the coveted Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The FanZCarwill serve as an associate sponsor for Sunday's event as well.
Rolling into the .686 mile-oval Sadler has 247 NASCAR Busch Series starts to his record, 2 wins, 18 top-fives, 44 top-tens, three poles, and has achieved $2,564,589 in career earnings.
The Kroger 200 is the 22nd of 34 events on the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series schedule. 58 teams are entered in the one day show this weekend. Practice and qualifying are on the agenda this Saturday, August 7th with the 200-lap/211.6 mile race set to take the green flag that night. Qualifying will be aired live on the Speed Channel starting at 5:05pm. TNT will air the event live beginning at 8:00PM EST, with MRN handling the airwaves starting at 7:45 PM EST. The race will also be available via XM radio channel 144 starting at 7:00pm.
