NASCAR Winston Cup veteran Hut Stricklin will be in the driver's seat of the No. 92 Kraft Chevrolet this weekend when he attempts to qualify for the NASCAR Busch Series Stihl 300 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Stricklin will be filling in for regular dri ver Jeff Green in the Chevrolet owned by Mac Martin.

The Stihl 300 will not be the first time that Stricklin and Mac Martin have worked together. In 1992, Stricklin ran 13 races in a Martin owned car and posted his best year in the NASCAR Busch Series with three top-fives and five top-10s. Stricklin also recorded a second-place finish at Michigan and a third-place finish in the inaugural Atlanta NASCAR Busch Series event in 1992. Stricklin's most recent encounter with NASCAR Busch Series competition at Atlanta MotorSpeedway was in the Busch Light 300 in 1996. After starting in the 35th position, Stricklin managed to maneuver through the field and finish 19th. Since being released as the driver of the No. 8 Chevrolet of the Stavola Brothers earlier this year, Stricklin has bounced around the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, filling the seat of several cars as a substitute or relief driver. Stricklin and Martin hope to deliver a top-10 finish in the Kraft Foods car this weekend. It would be the team's first top-10 effort of the season.
