A late race pass on Johnny Sauter helped Bobby Hamilton, Jr. earn his third race of the season. Sauter was leading, when the No. 25 of Hamilton kissed his bumper causing a slight wiggle with three laps left in the event. The wiggle was enough for Hamilton to cruise to the checkered flag.

"We kept digging," said Hamilton, Jr. on his late race bump. "Finally, I said I gotta go."

Jason Keller also nosed by Sauter before the white flag to score second, while Sauter faded to third.

"I don't know," said Sauter of his feelings on the late race shove. "I won a race a couple of weeks ago doing the exact same thing. You do what you gotta do.I'm just really aggravated right now."

Ron Hornaday and Brian Vickers round out the top five.

Vickers fifth place finish, climbs him into first place in the points battle, 23 markers ahead of the field.

"It feels great," said Vickers. "To come out of here with the points lead, I can't say enough about this GMAC team."

David Green, entered Memphis leading the championship standings, but a 19th place finish drops him to second place.

"I did a great job, I had a great racecar," said Green. "We had a problem with the engine, lost a cylinder.we can't dictate what happens with the engine...we'll go get them in Atlanta."

Jason Keller moves up two spots in the rankings to third, Ron Hornaday is fourth and Scott Riggs drops two positions to fifth.

Forty-four points separate the top five contenders for the Busch trophy, the closest point margin in series history with four events remaining in the season.

Heavy attrition marred today's event, with 18 cars out of the race by days end. There were nine cautions for 46 laps.
