"Last year we had to deal with heat conditions that most of us never experienced before. This year the conditions will be different, so I think it could be a different race as well. I've been looking forward to coming back to St. Louis and look forward to having a strong finish." --- Buckshot Jones, driver of the No.00 Bayer Aspirin / Alka-Seltzer Pontiac

1997 St. Louis Race Recap: Jones was hanging on through the blistering heat and managing to stay out of the accidents around him. On lap 143, Jones was running in the fifth position when he got caught in some of the pieces of the track that were coming apart and got loose, causing him to hit the wall. The No. 00 machine suffered severe damage, but was able to return to the track and complete the race in 25th position.
