BUSCH: Fontana: Jack Sprague race quotes

Sprague on finishing fourth in the Auto Club 300 "The cautions definitely saved us today. We we were 2/10 of a gallon away from running out of gas at the end and that would have been big for the points, so finishing fourth isn't too bad.

Sprague on finishing fourth in the Auto Club 300

"The cautions definitely saved us today. We we were 2/10 of a gallon away from running out of gas at the end and that would have been big for the points, so finishing fourth isn't too bad. Actually the way the car was all weekend I was hoping for a Top-10, so we did better than I thought, but I still want a win so bad. All day we made little adjustments and the car would go one way, and then back again. We never quite seemed to get it totally right. I love this track and happy we had another good run. We'll keep digging and sooner or later, we'll get us a win."

Sprague on starting on the pole for the Auto Club 300

"I'm okay with starting on the pole even if we didn't earn it the way we should have because of the rain, but it was probably eight or nine spots better than where we would have ended up for the race. I don't really know how we'd have qualified because we didn't get a good last lap in practice. I figured a Top-10 was probably where we'd had been."

Sprague on final practice

"Up until happy hour the car wasn't very good, but after some good adjustments it was a lot better and more comfortable to drive. It was just a little tight off the corner, but the best it was all day."

Sprague on first practice

"The car seemed to not turn the way I would have liked. As I went into the corner the car seemed to snap sideways, but I think I just wasn't used to the way a Busch car would feel and as the practice progressed everything felt pretty good. The NetZero Chevy was a little tight in the center of the corner as I got off the throttle, but otherwise I think we were comfortable with it and got ready for qualifying."
