"It's tough to say. We'll have to get a look at it, but it sure felt like something broke. We were just getting going there, it was only the third lap and it came around. It hasn't happened to me in a while and really felt like something came loose or something like that. We'll look at it and get it fixed and get on to next week at Richmond. We've got a good car that we're gonna bring there, so this hurts us in the points -- especially in the driver points -- but, I don't know. We'll figure out what happened, but it's just an unfortunate day."
DID YOU FEEL A VIBRATION OR ANYTHING BEFORE GOING INTO THE WALL? "It wasn't the right-front tire. I think that blew when we hit the wall. The right-front jackscrew just broke and we can't decide if that happened when we hit or not. It sure felt to me like something came loose or broke and the car came around real fast. It was only the third lap and I was just getting going. We were just taking it easy and trying to feel out the car, and it snapped around pretty fast. We'll take a look and see if we can find something. If not, we'll chalk it up to driver error, but it sure felt like something broke."
GREG BIFFLE -- No. 16 3M Ford Fusion (Finished 32nd)
"I was racing Ryan Newman for position for about 10 laps and he just wouldn't give me any room. I'd go to the top and he'd go to the top. I'd go to the bottom and he'd go to the bottom. Another guy got by both of us and he continued to race him, so I just got down there in three and four and got really high on the race track trying to get my nose outside of him and went to the gas real hard, and was up in the fuzz and just got loose. The car got out from under me and spun it around. I was so close to the wall. Normally, you can spin out here and not hit anything, but I was so close to the wall up there that I wasn't able to stay off of it. I smashed up the left-rear quarter panel pretty bad and aerodynamically this track is so fast that there's no way we could fix it and probably make the minimum speed, so we just elected to park it."
IT LOOKED LIKE THERE WERE A LOT OF GROOVES TO MOVE AROUND, IS THERE? "Yeah, there is. There's a lot of room to race up and down the race track. It doesn't seem as racy as it has in the past. It seems like it's pretty slick, maybe like we need a little bit softer tire on the race car to make it a little racier for us, but long green runs, we figured we'd see that at California."
DAVID RAGAN -- No. 6 Discount Tire Ford Fusion (Finished 10th)
"We started off the race and we were extremely tight. We were a 20th-place car at best the first run. We bounced back and forth between setups in practice and we went with the setup we've been running most of the year. It qualified well, but we just didn't have any practice race runs. We started the race and that was basically our first practice session and it was just super-tight. We changed rubbers and track bar and wedge, air-pressure -- you name it and if we could change it during a pit stop we changed it. It was just an interesting night. It goes to show that you never give up. That first 50 laps I was ready for the race to be over with already, but to come back with a top 10 effort is great. Busch racing is tough and it's a lot of confidence for these guys to run in the top 10 with all the Cup teams and Cup guys. It was a lot of fun the last 50 laps, but it wasn't a lot of fun the first part of the race."
CARL EDWARDS -- No. 60 Sharp AQUOS Ford Fusion (Finished 26th)
"I don't know exactly what happened. I guess Matt got turned or something, but the car was coming alive. We were going faster and faster and we had fresh Goodyears on it. I was going down the back straightaway and all I saw a big Arby's and a 17 and a bunch of smoke. I'm just glad we didn't tear it up any worse. It looks like we might be able to get back out there and keep from getting a DNF, but I guess that's just gonna make it more exciting to try to win this owner's championship. Jeff Burton is having a great night and it's too bad because we were having a lot of fun."
MARCOS AMBROSE -- No. 59 Kingsford Charcoal Ford Fusion (Finished 13th)
"In the spring race here at California I couldn't get out of my own way. It was horrible and we've made huge improvements since then, so we've got to look at the positive of how far we've come. We're disappointed to finish 13th because we thought we could have run top 10. We were there with four or five laps to go, but just couldn't hold on. I didn't have enough experience to hold them back at such a big speedway. They just snookered me and got runs on me that I couldn't stop. We're disappointed because we think we could do better, but, at the same time, I think we're really proud of how far we've come."
STEPHEN LEICHT -- No. 90 Citifinancial Ford Fusion (Finished 29th)
"Our night ended early. As soon as the green flag dropped we broke third gear and from then on I knew we were gonna struggle. What stinks is that we had a good car. We had a top-10 car easily and all night we showed that, so we had the speed. Then halfway through the race we left the lugs loose on the right-front on a pit stop. It was just one of those deals, so we had to come down pit road and lost another lap. At that point we were just trying to ride and finish and when that wreck happened down there I went down on the grass to miss it all, but, unfortunately, when you're in the grass you can't turn the car and they came down in front of me and I had nowhere to go."
JAMIE MCMURRAY -- No. 26 Dish Network Ford Fusion (Finished 8th)
"Greg and Matt had good cars. I don't know if they were better than we were. We had a good car and made an adjustment with our right-rear spring rubber and just didn't have as good a car from then on. The car got tight and we kept adjusting on it, but we never had as good a car as we did at the beginning. That's my third race with this team and we've run something like eighth, eighth and 11th, so we've been pretty consistent, we just need to get a little better."
