David Green made the move on Clint Bowyer just as the white flag was shown to earn the victory in Saturday's NASCAR Busch Series race on the one-mile Pikes Peak International Raceway oval.

"This Ford never gave up, it just hung in there," said the race winner. "It feels good to have this win."

Indeed, Green put his car in a side-to-side run and edged the Ford oval ahead of the Chevy bowtie to score his first Busch win since Kansas, 2003.

"The key right there was not having any cautions," Green continued. "I was really surprised to get around JJ (Yeley) and (Martin) Truex like that to get to second. When I got to Clint, I was thinking, he already got a win this year and I hadn't got one yet.

"I knew I had him in a lane he didn't want to be in. We touched a little bit. I was really hoping I could get away from him after we made contact."

Bowyer, the polesitter, finished second, "I didn't have any idea he was coming that fast. I was pushing pretty hard and I used my stuff up."

Kenny Wallace, Martin Truex, Jr. and JJ Yeley completed the top five.

"It was a little disappointing," said Yeley who led 86 laps. "But, we'll take that one. It was a good top five for us."

Truex continues to lead series standings. Clint Bowyer, Reed Sorenson, Car Edwards and Kenny Wallace complete the top five.
