THE STORY: Steve Wallace and Team Rapid RWI Racing blow into the Windy City this weekend looking to repeat, in this weekend's Busch Series race, the dominating performance they put on in last year's ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Chicagoland Speedway. Following a month which has seen improved performance from the 66 car, the team is hoping to capitalize and post the top-ten finishes which it feels its performance warrants.
THE MACHINES: Wallace seeks to blow away the Windy City competition from the cockpit of RWI-022. Arguably RWI's best intermediate steed in 2007, the "22 car" won the pole for the Nashville event earlier in the year and has five starts to date in 2007. Its last appearance was in the Kentucky round, where Wallace ran second for the majority of the day until a late-race accident while battling for the lead took him out of contention. This week's backup is RWI-020, which set fast time in final practice at Darlington in May.
THE MAN AT CHICAGOLAND: Steve Wallace has only one career start at Chicagoland Speedway. That start however, is one of which many aspiring racers could only dream. The then-18 year-old Wallace started from the pole and led 85 laps en route to a dominating victory in last September's ARCA RE/MAX Series event at Chicagoland.
HELLO HERMAN: NEXTEL Cup Series driver and former Busch Series winner, Kenny Wallace, will again join RWI this weekend as the chief spotter and driver coach for Steve Wallace and the No.66 team.
CLEANING UP THE COMPETITION: The Chicagoland round marks the third of five races in which the livery of Rapid Industrial Cleaning will adorn RWI's No.66. Rapid will also be on the 66 car in August at Michigan, as well as one other event to be determined.
JUST THE FACTEON, MAM: The 66 car will again feature Atlanta, GA-based Facteon on its rear quarter panels this weekend. A strategic partner of Rapid Industrial Cleaning, Facteon provides online factoring services to small and large businesses alike. For more on Facteon, please visit www.facteon.com.
STEVE WALLACE LIVE: Steve Wallace will be available for public autographs this Friday at the Rusty Wallace & Company / ESPN merchandise trailer located on speedway grounds. This appearance is tentatively set for 3:15 PM local time and is subject to change due to the unpredictability of on-track events. Please check with the merchandise trailer operators for any changes.
CHASING CHASE: While Rapid Industrial Cleaning may adorn RWI's Busch Series effort this weekend in Chicago, Team HomeLife Communities RWI Racing is again in action this weekend in the NASCAR Grand National Division, Busch East Series.17 year-old phenom Chase Austin and the Steve Darne-led team will do battle this weekend on the high-banked 5/8-mile Thompson International Speedway in Connecticut. This weekend's event is set for an 8:30 PM ET start and will mark the debut of Busch East Series TV coverage on HDNET. The Thompson round will feature tape-delayed coverage beginning at 12:30 AM ET the evening of the event.

WITH YOUR PAST SUCCESS AT CHICAGO, WHAT IS YOUR OUTLOOK FOR THIS WEEKEND?: "Chicago is a track we're I've had success in the past. It's a really fast place, one where you can really get after the corners. It's just the kind of racetrack that suits me really well. At the same time though, it's the kind of place where you're really on the edge for a lot of the day; things happen fast there, so you have to be heads up. We're bringing the same car that won the pole at Nashville and ran second all day at Kentucky, so I feel confident that we'll have a good car for the race. We've struggled with our finishes this year, but our cars have been pretty fast, especially over the last couple of months. Hopefully, we'll be able to duplicate the kind of run we had in the ARCA car there last year and bring home a great run for Rapid Industrial Cleaning and HomeLife Communities."
