McGill Motorsports team is ready with a new car after week off

Lowes Motor Speedway is right in the middle of NASCAR country. More than 80 percent of the teams are based within just an hour or two drive to the Charlotte racetrack so it's no surprise that fifty-two cars are entered in Saturday evening's NASCAR Busch Series Carquest Autoparts 300 including many Nextel Cup drivers who are looking to gain an advantage at the newly re-paved mile and a half speedway.

This week the Lester Buildings Chevy of will carry a special message as the car will display a photo of 14-year-old Raine Angelley, a Charlotte-area boy who has polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a disorder that causes the formation of cysts in the kidneys. Raine was born with the disorder and his kidney function is now below 20%. Several donors have been located for a transplant, but the medical costs to the family will be staggering. The #36 will carry the phone number for donations to a fund established for Angelley. Raine and his father will be at the track Saturday as guests of Sauter and the McGill Motorsports team.

The team is bringing a brand new car to the racecar this weekend. "Ricky and the guys did a real nice job on this car, the body looks real good. We really needed that week-off to get caught up and I'm looking forward to getting back in the car. I've had some good runs at Charlotte in the past and we are going to try to give Lester Buildings a good finish this weekend. The track is really fast and the tire is really hard, so it's going to take a perfect balance in the car to run up front." explained Sauter.

* The Carquest Autoparts 300 will be Tim's 96th start in the NBS and 101st career NASCAR start.

* This will be the fifth time Tim has competed at Charlotte in the NBS. Best Finish; 13th on October 12th, 2002 driving the AP Performance Chevy.

Tim's thoughts on the newly re-paved Lowes Motor Speedway: "Ricky and I talked with a couple of the crew chiefs after the races last week to get their thoughts about the new tire and the new racing surface, I think we have a pretty good idea of what to expect. One thing I won't miss is the bumps, those things could really upset the car!"

* This will be the fifth time McGill Motorsports has competed at Charlotte in the NBS. Best Finish; 21st on May 28th, 2005 with Stanton Barrett driving.
