Stater Bros. and Gatorade to Sponsor NASCAR Busch Series Event
FONTANA, Calif. (April 27, 2004) --- California Speedway today announced Stater Bros. Markets as the title sponsor and Gatorade Thirst Quencher as the presenting sponsor of the NASCAR Busch Series event at California Speedway on Saturday, May 1st. California Speedway President Bill Miller made the announcement.
The Stater Bros. 300 presented by Gatorade is the new event title and is the ninth race of the season and will be televised live on FOX at 1:00 p.m. (PDT). NASCAR Busch Series regulars like David Green, Bobby Hamilton Jr. and Mike Bliss will square off against NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series veterans like Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Matt Kenseth, two-time Daytona 500 Champion Michael Waltrip and Jeremy Mayfield, who will be piloting the No. 6 Stater Bros. Dodge.
"Stater Bros. is one of the most respected companies in Southern California, and we are pleased to have them as the title sponsor of our NASCAR Busch Series event," said Miller. "We welcomed them a few weeks ago to our list of corporate partners as 'California Speedway's preferred Grocery Store,' and now the addition of the Busch Series entitlement takes the relationship to another level.

The Stater Bros. 300 presented by Gatorade will be part of an exciting day of racing action at California Speedway on May 1st. The day starts early with the green flag for the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series King Taco 200 waving at 9:20 a.m. followed by NEXTEL Cup Happy Hour. The Stater Bros. 300 presented by Gatorade gets under way at 1:00 p.m.
The race is part of one of the most exciting days in all of racing, including a Fan Forum, which is a question and answer session with NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series owner Ray Evernham and driver Robby Gordon, which will take place in Suite Lot F at 6:15 p.m. The infield musical performance begins at 7:00 p.m. with the Miller Lite Rock 'n Racing Concert featuring "LIVE" followed immediately by fireworks.
