BUSCH: Busch Series Broadcast Schedule Announced

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 14, 2000) The NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division announced Friday all NASCAR 2000 season races will be televised nationally among seven networks, including ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, CBS, NBC, TBS and TNN. In addition, each race will be broadcast on one of two radio networks, MRN and PRN.

Beginning Feb. 19 with the NAPA Auto Parts 300 at the Daytona International Speedway, the NASCAR Busch Series will broadcast live on CBS and MRN at 12 p.m. ET. CBS will also televise the Texas 300 (Texas Motor Speedway, April 1) and the Sears DieHard 250 (The Milwaukee Mile, July 2).

TNN will televise the most number of races on the circuit with 11 dates, including the Alltel 200 (North Carolina Speedway, Feb. 26), Music City 320 (Nashville Speedway USA, April 8), Busch 200 (New Hampshire International Speedway, May 13), MBNA Platinum 200 (Dover Downs International Speedway, June 3), Textilease Medique 300 (South Boston Speedway, June 10), Myrtle Beach 250 (Myrtle Beach Speedway, June 17), CarQuest Auto Parts 250 (Gateway International Raceway, July 29), MBNA Gold 200 (Dover Downs International Speedway, Sept. 23), Rockingham 200 (North Carolina Speedway, Oct. 21), Sam's Town 250 (Memphis Motorsports Park, Oct. 29) and Outback Steakhouse 200 (Phoenix International Raceway, Nov. 4).

ESPN will broadcast 10 races during the upcoming season, including the Darlington 200 (Darlington Raceway, March 18), Cheez-It 250 (Bristol Motor Speedway, March 25), Auto Club 300 (California Speedway, April 29), Lysol 200 (Watkins Glen International, June 25), Nazareth 200 (Nazareth Speedway, July 16), Kroger 200 (Indianapolis Raceway Park, Aug. 4), NAPAOnline.com 250 -- expanded by 50 miles this season -- (Michigan Speedway, Aug. 19), Food City 250 (Bristol Motor Speedway, Aug. 25), Dura Lube 200 (Darlington Raceway, Sept. 2) and the Autolite Platinum 250 (Richmond International Raceway, Sept. 8).

ESPN2 will air four races in 2000, including: Sam's Town 300 (Las Vegas Motor Speedway, March 4), Touchstone Energy 300 (Talladega Superspeedway, April 15), Hardee's 250 (Richmond International Raceway, May 5) and NAPA AutoCare 250 (Pikes Peak International Raceway, July 22).

The CarQuest Auto Parts 300 (Lowe's Motor Speedway, May 27) and All Pro Bumper to Bumper 300 (Lowe's Motor Speedway, Oct. 7) are both scheduled to air on TBS, while ABC will broadcast the Aaron's 312 (Atlanta Motor Speedway, March 11). NBC is slated to televise the season finale HotWheels.com 300 (Homestead-Miami Speedway, Nov. 11).

In radio, MRN will broadcast all but six races in 2000, while PRN is scheduled to transmit the following events: Aaron's 312 (Atlanta Motor Speedway, March 11), Cheez-It 250 (Bristol Motor Speedway, March 25), Texas 300 (Texas Motor Speedway, April 1), CarQuest Auto Parts 300 (Lowe's Motor Speedway, May 27), Food City 250 (Bristol Motor Speedway, Aug. 25) and the All Pro Bumper to Bumper 300 (Lowe's Motor Speedway, Oct. 7).

The NASCAR 2000 NASCAR Busch Series schedule features 32 races at 26 different venues across the United States.
