NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 12, 1998) - The No. 00 Alka-Seltzer / Bayer Aspirin Pontiac that Buckshot Jones will be competing with at Nashville Speedway USA's NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division running of the BellSouth Mobility/Opryland 320 is a brand new car. But while the car may not know the track, the driver is more than familiar.

Jones competed at Nashville Speedway USA when he raced Late Model stock cars in the NASCAR Slim Jim All-Pro Series. In 1993, Jones started the Manheim Auction All American 400 third, but finished 25th due to an accident. Jones finished the same race in 1994 in 10th position. "I competed at Nashville Speedway when I raced in the NASCAR Slim Jim All-Pro Series and I always enjoy coming back. This track has a lot of racing history and we're going to see if we can become a part of it."

Jones is one of four drivers who has completed every lap of every race during the 1998 NASCAR Busch Series season. The other drivers include Mark Martin, Mark Green and Hermie Sadler.

During the 1997 BellSouth Mobility/Opryland 320 Jones fought hard to finish in the top-10. Jones was feeling under the weather during the race, suffered severe damage to both sides of the No. 00 Pontiac and still managed to finish in 10th position.
