"I don't know what it is, but when the
lights go on at Bristol you're bound to see plenty of fireworks. If you can
bring back a car from Bristol with all four corners still on it, you've
accomplished something major."
--Buckshot Jones, driver of the No. 00 Cheez-It Chevrolet
*Last week's Bud Pole Award marked the third career pole for Jones and the Buckshot Racing team. Prior to setting the track record last weekend at Michigan, Jones' last pole came at IRP in July 1998. Jones captured his only other career pole at Rockingham in October 1996.
*For the Buckshot Racing team, Bristol Motor Speedway lived up to its reputation of providing plenty of action. Before the first lap was even completed Buckshot was involved in an accident with several other cars. Suffering only minor damage, the team repaired the car and sent Buckshot on his way. Just 20 laps later, Jones was involved in another accident, this time suffering major front-end damage. The car was repaired and returned to the race looking more like a modified car than a stock car. The day ended with Buckshot finishing 34th.
