"It's just a fast day, a fast race track. I thought the drawing early may hurt us when the temperature started to cool off a little bit, but a ppc front row; my teammate is on the outside of the front row, so that's pretty good."

IS THIS A GOOD PLACE TO TRY TO MAKE UP SOME GROUND FOR YOU IN THE POINTS?

"I'm really, and I've said it all day long and I've said it all week long, I really don't think that you can points race here at Bristol. Yeah, you can gain 100 points here pretty quick here, but you can lose them faster than you can gain them. It's a race track that we know is going to be tough, we know that. I was running second here in the spring and got involved with a lapped car, so no matter if you start up front or start in the middle of the pack, or star at the back, accidents can find you and they often do find you here at Bristol. I really kinda put that points race out of my mind here this weekend. Yeah, it's nice to sit on the pole, but it doesn't pay any points. We just really need to focus on our race car. We can't help what happens to lapped cars. We can't focus on that. We just have to focus on getting our car really good here in Happy Hour. I knew the first lap on the race track this morning that we had a fast car. The race track has changed a lot now, but it's nice to unload with that mindset and know, so hopefully the trend continues all weekend."
