Wallace Has His Mind on a Top-10 Finish in Atlanta

If Stacker 2 Racing driver Kenny Wallace can repeat last year's seventh-place performance in the Aaron's 312 on Saturday, then he should move into the top 10 in points. He is only six points from the top 10 and less than 100 points from the top six.

Wallace To Be Inducted Into His High School Hall of Fame

After practice ends on Friday, Wallace will be boarding a private plane to fly to St. Louis, his hometown. When he arrives he will be attending a special ceremony at his high school, Fox Senior High in Arnold, Mo. Wallace graduated in 1981. Wallace, his brother Rusty and a few NFL players are going to be the first-ever alumni to be inducted into their high school's hall of fame.

This will be Wallace's seventh start at Atlanta Motor Speedway in the Busch Series. His only top 10 came last year in October. He has completed 90% of the laps and accrued over $75,000 in winnings. His average finish is 19th, and he only has one DNF, which occurred in 2000.

LAST YEAR AT ATLANTA... Aaron's 312

October 30, 2004-- Wallace started 12th last year in the Aaron's 312. The team was confident that the car was capable of a top-10 finish. Early in the race the car's handling was loose and Wallace found himself a lap down before the midway point. He was able to get the lap back by being the recipient of the lucky dog. With only 11 laps remaining, Wallace pitted under caution to get four fresh tires. This gave Wallace the extra speed that he needed as he raced his way into the seventh position, his best finish ever at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

"A long time has passed since I graduated. I have done a lot and practically been all over the world. It completes the circle to go back to the school where it all started. To be inducted into their first-ever hall of fame is a great honor, and I look forward to attending the event."

"Atlanta is a brand new week. We have a lot of work to do on our cars in order to figure out what is preventing us from running where we need to be. I am confident we will accurately diagnose the problem and we will be competitive in Atlanta."

Kenny Wallace Happenings

NASCAR Drivers 360- The cameras will start following Kenny and his family this weekend in Atlanta. This is the second season the popular television show will be following Kenny. They will also be in Texas and Bristol.

Poker Champion- Kenny was the last person at the poker table last Thursday in Las Vegas. He was able to defeat other racing personalities to win $50,000 for the Autism Society of America.
