This Week's Zaxby's Chevrolet at Bristol ... Clint Bowyer will drive Chassis No. 085 in Friday's Food City 250. This chassis was built in-house by the RCR team this season, completing its maiden voyage at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in June, where Austin Dillon started eighth but finished 25th after a challenging pit stop and a series of pit road penalties.
Meet Danny Stockman ... Stockman, a 28-year-old California native who has led Raybestos rookie contender Austin Dillon to one win and three pole awards so far in the 2010 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, will serve as crew chief for the No. 21 Zaxby's Chevrolet this weekend. This weekend marks the first time that Stockman has worked with Bowyer in the crew chief capacity.
Double Duty ... Following Friday's Food City 250, Bowyer will compete in Saturday night's Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol in the No. 33 Cheerios/Hamburger Helper Chevrolet.
You've won in the NNS at Bristol, and both your NNS and Cup stats at the track are impressive. What is the key to finishing well here?
"Bristol is all about speed. The track has a tremendous amount of speed for its size, and things happen fast. The key is to avoid trouble on the race track. It's easier said than done. I like the side-by-side racing at Bristol, and the fact that you can race really hard there. I like the track because, like most drivers, it reminds me of my short track racing roots."
What are your expectations for Friday?
"We're ready to go out there and post a good finish for Zaxby's. The guys on this team have worked hard all year and deserve a good finish, and I think we are very capable of keeping the car up front all night long. We were extremely strong at Daytona, and I think we can duplicate that finish this weekend."
