KESELOWSKI AT BRISTOL - Brad Keselowski has some solid experience at the famed "Bull Ring" having competed in four NASCAR Nationwide Series events and two Camping World Truck Series events at the .533 mile track. In his four Nationwide Series starts, Keselowski has an average start of 20.5 and an average finish of 13.3.
LAST TIME AT BRISTOL - In the August 2008 event at Bristol Motor Speedway, Keselowski came from a 37th-place starting position to win the 250-lap event after capitalizing on Clint Bowyer's late race bobble in the closing laps. This was Keselowski's second series victory of 2008.
TEAMMATES ANNOUNCED - JR Motorsports announced this week that Ryan Newman and Scott Wimmer will join team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Tony Stewart as drivers of the No. 5 Fastenal Chevy. Newman, a seven-time Nationwide Series winner, is scheduled for four races which include Dover, Chicagoland, Michigan and Kansas. A six-time series winner, Wimmer is slated for six races to include Darlington, Milwaukee, O'Reilly Raceway Park, Iowa, Bristol and Richmond.
EXCUSE ME, COMING THROUGH - According to NASCAR loop statistics, Keselowski is ranked third in quality passes (a pass made under green while running in the top-15) at BMS. He has made an average of 15.5 quality passes in his four races at the track, trailing only Kyle Busch and Brian Vickers.
BACK TO HIS ROOTS - During the off week, Keselowski traveled to Toledo Speedway to make an appearance at the 2009 Toledo/Flat Rock Speedways annual press conference. As the guest speaker, Keselowski shared memories of being at the track to watch his father Bob Keselowski who was the ARCA RE/MAX series champion in 1989 as well as the Toledo Late Model champion in 2003.
CHASSIS NO. 403 - The No. 88 GoDaddy.com team will run Chassis No. 403 at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend. This is the same car Keselowski took to Victory Lane in the August 2008 race at BMS. Most recently, 403 was raced at the fall Dover race where Keselowski qualified 12th and finished third.
KESELOWSKI (on what it was like to win at BMS last year) - "Man, winning at Bristol was a pretty cool deal. I have always loved the track and been able to run well there too. We started near the back last fall because I had a little trouble in qualifying, but my car was just so good that it really didn't matter. The crew did an awesome job of getting me spots on pit road- everything was just in sync. We are bringing back that same car with GoDaddy.com on the hood and I'm hopeful for the same result this time."
KESELOWSKI (on what it's going to take to get 2009 back on track) - "What is so frustrating about the first three races this season is that we have been running well but haven't had the finishes to back it up. To get back on track, we need to get some solid finishes and wins. I know I have the team and the equipment capable of doing this, we just need to put it all together and get it done."
