The green flag flew and Wallace ran strong in the top 5 for the first part of the race but suddenly lost forward drive and began to fall back in the field.

Mike Wallace and Daryl Harr both encounter issues in the desert.
The finish moved the No. 01 team up in owner’s points to 27th, and Wallace up to 19th in driver’s points.
Front A-Arm had broken and once the repairs were made, Mike returned to the track 37 laps down.
Wallace never gave up throughout the night and picked up six more positions on the track to finish the U.S. Cellular 250 in the 22nd position.
