Wallace to re-run Phoenix truck

PHOENIX (April 15, 1998) The No. 52 truck that the Ken Schrader Racing team is taking to Phoenix for this weekend's Chevy Trucks 150 debuted in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Phoenix International Raceway last November, where it finished sixth. It is also the same truck it competed with this season in races at Orlando and Homestead, Fla.

"Phoenix is a typical one-mile track," said Mike Wallace, driver of the No. 52 Dayco No Slack/Purolator PureONE Chevrolet. "We ran well there in the November race and are really looking forward to this weekend. We are confident we have the ability to win."

Dayco belts and hose, Purolator's sister company, will remain the primary sponsor on the Schrader Racing Chevrolet. Dayco "No Slack" was first on the truck, in black livery, at the Miami-Dade Homestead Motor Sports Complex two weeks ago. PureONE will return as primary sponsor for the Craftsman 200 by NAPA Auto Parts in Portland, Ore., next weekend.

In 1991, Wallace competed in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series race at Phoenix. It was the first time in series history three brothers competed in the same race -- Mike, Rusty and Kenny Wallace).

Mike Wallace will be making an appearance at the Sears store in Paradise Valley Mall for "FAN FEST" on Friday from 7-9 p.m.
