COOPERSVILLE, Mich. (April 8, 1999) After a week in and out of a South Florida hospital due to his latest bout with kidney stones, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series rookie Tim Steele is now recuperating at his home in Michigan. "I was officially dismissed by the doctor late yesterday afternoon and we came home last night," said Steele on Wednesday from his Coopersville home. "It was a little more serious situation than they thought going in.

"We had the laser procedure done last Wednesday and they found that I had four huge stones plus several smaller ones. The doctors wound up having to place a tube between my bladder and kidneys. I had that removed yesterday afternoon and they let me go shortly after that.

"I'm still a little sore, but I can't wait to get back to the race track."

Steele, the three-time ARCA champion, has turned his focus to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season. He is expected to test next week and should be back in action in the April 17 NAPA 250 on the .526-mile Martinsville Speedway.
