How was your run tonight?
"Overall, our run tonight was good especially with everything that's gone on this week. It's just frustrating that the NASCAR rule book is the way it is with the restrictors and all of that. It's hard to battle with those Chevrolets and those Fords with the way that we have so much drag in our Toyota's and less front down force and all of that stuff. Yeah, I'm complaining. I'm going to do it. I'm not going to going to sugar coat it. I'm tired of it. Running second every week isn't any fun. So we've got some work to do, we know, but not as much as we do for down the straight-aways."
Was Ron Hornaday just solid as can be in this race?
"He is every week. The Harvick bunch has something figured out like we (Joe Gibbs Racing) do on the Nationwide side. Still there's some straightaway speed there too that we're hurting on. It's unfortunate there with the way the rules are. I have to thank these guys. For as much adversity they've had this week and Billy (Ballew, team owner) for sticking in with us. He was in tears the other night and this just means so much to finish second. We wish we could have got a win for him. This is the best handling truck and best handling truck I've ever had at Texas. If it comes up that much short to Ron Hornaday and those guys on that bunch than that's all we had for them. We waxed everyone else tonight but weren't able to hang with them."
Was your finish tonight special with the adversity your team has faced this week?
"With the adversity that Billy (Ballew, team owner) and all these guys on the whole Billy Ballew Motorsports team went through it's a fine night to come home second but man we're struggling a little bit in the speed department through the corners and mostly down the straightaway. That 33 (Ron Hornaday), we just can't keep up with the way the NASCAR rule book is right now. It is what it is and we had a great truck. That was the best driving truck I've had here -- it was cool to drive it like that. It's hard to beat a truck that can pass everybody twice and stay that dominant up front."
If a caution came out late would you have been able to make a pass?
"I don't think so. Hornaday was just that good. It's hard to pass here and not having the straightaway speed that the Chevrolets do and not quite having the corner speed that Hornaday's truck does, it's tough. We saw the straightaway speed even with the Fords tonight, but we could out corner those guys. We'll have to go back and keep working on it and keep it as good as the 33 (Ron Hornaday)."
What are your thoughts about your finish assisting Toyota in clinching the NCTS manufacturer's championship?
"It's the best finish that we could get. It was a good run for us and I'm glad that we were able to clinch."
