With his second Podium finish of the season safely notched on his belt, David Starr and the Spears Motorsports crew are geared up for another top three as they head for St. Louis and the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers Ram Tough 200 at Gateway International Speedway, July 17.

"We had a good race at Kentucky last weekend," says Starr. "And, I'm really hoping that we finally got the proverbial monkey off our back. But, I'm not going to say for sure until we get a couple more races under our belt. Then we will know if he is really gone."

This race will mark Starr's fifth start at the well-known St. Louis raceway. "Last year this was my first race back after my accident and we took 6th. The year before, we finished 5th. Naturally, this time out, we want to win or at the very least, land on the Podium. Gateway is a fun, unique track and I'm looking forward to getting behind the wheel this coming weekend. There are not many tracks similar and, in fact, it is one of the more exciting courses on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series circuit for both drivers and fans. Since the turns are different on both ends, you run both fast and slow. Dave McCarty, our crew chief, is definitely dialed in to what we need here and I think this will be another good race for us."

To date there have been six different winners at Gateway International Raceway, two of which have been in Chevy trucks. "It would be awesome to be the seventh name on the list of winners and even more awesome to bring home the victory for both Spears and Chevrolet," says Starr.

One of the hardest charging teams on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Spears Motorsports is well-known for their tenacity both on and off the track. "We definitely don't ever give up," says Starr. "We know we've had some set-backs this season, but those kind of things only serve to make our entire team more determined. There are still 14 races left in this year's series and we plan to be first in the Winner's Circle more than once.
