Chad On Gateway:

Chad is coming off his best run of the season -- a 5th place finish at the Martinsville Speedway.

"It's safe to say that Gateway is my kind of track. I thought we had the race won last year but came home with a fourth place finish instead. I seem to run good at flat tracks like Gateway. It is a unique track that has two distinctly different ends to it and long straightaways. The new gear rule will come into affect here as in the past a lot of people have shifted but that will not be the case now. My team has given me great Toyota trucks these first four races and we will have another one this week. TRD gives us tremendous horsepower for our Toyota Tundra and that will really help down these long straightaways. The most exciting finish the series' had last year was at Gateway and I led seven of the last eight laps of the race -- just not the right one. I expect the same kind of excitement again and maybe this time we can bring home the trophy."

"Chaffin -- A Man On The Move":

Chad has had a roller coaster start to the 2005 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. After a start to the season that saw the veteran sitting 28th in the points after the first two races, he has rebounded with two solid top ten finishes and has skyrocketed to 11th in the points -- a mere 37 points out of the sixth spot.

"We had some bad luck in the first two races -- we were running third with less than ten laps to go at Daytona and got wrecked and took a wild ride down the backstretch. Then we were running around the top ten in California and we had a mechanical failure. Those two finishes are not indicative of how good we were for those first two races but maybe we got our bad luck out of the way early in the season. I have led laps in three out of the first four races this season and I am not sure how many other teams can say that. The seventh and fifth place finishes we have had the last two races could have even been better than that. I am having fun driving this No. 30 Toyota and when a driver with a team this talented is having fun -- watch out!"

"This Germain / Arnold Racing team has just been incredible to work with this season. The Hillman's (Mike and Mike Jr.) do an awesome job in getting the trucks prepared for the track and we are fast every time we unload. This gives me a great amount of confidence and it sure does make it a lot of fun to race these trucks. I think you will see us win a few of these races before the year is out and make a solid run at this championship."

Career at Gateway:

Chad will be making his fifth career start at the Gateway International Raceway. In addition to two prior starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series-- Chad also has two starts in the NASCAR Busch Series at the 1.25-mile oval. Last season saw him with his best start at Gateway of sixth and lead seven laps on his way to a fourth place finish.
