Setzer Hopes to Continue Rise to the Top in Kentucky
Sparta, KY - Dennis Setzer and the #46 Acxiom/Computer Associates team are looking to continue the success they have found recently in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series as they prepare for this Saturday nights Kroger 225 at the Kentucky Speedway.
Setzer heads back to the Kentucky Speedway hoping to better his performance from last season. During qualifying for last year's event, Setzer got loose coming out of turn 4 and spun the truck qualifying in the 33rd position. After never being able to find the handling of the truck, he finished in 12th one lap down.
"Last year was a tough deal for us when we came to the Kentucky Speedway," said Setzer. "The track is a beautiful facility, but I could never seem to find a setup on the truck, we struggled all weekend and just tried to get the best finish that we could."
This season Setzer heads to Kentucky with a new team in Morgan/Dollar Motorsports and hopes to continue their recent successes with an impressive result in Kentucky. Eight races ago crew chief Danny Gill joined the team and since that time they have posted five top-10's, 2 top-5's, a Bud Pole and the teams first ever Craftsman Truck win in Memphis. They have moved from 22nd in the point's standings to their current position of ninth.
"It has been quite a turnaround for this Morgan/Dollar Motorsports team since Danny Gill joined our team back in St. Louis," said Setzer. "I felt we could run like this from the beginning of the season, but we experienced our share of bad luck. We're trying to win a championship here and consistency is how you do that, so were just trying to finish in the top-10 as often as we can."
Lady Luck appears to be on the side of Setzer and his Morgan/Dollar Motorsports team as they head to Kentucky this weekend. The team is hoping they can continue to find the success that they have experienced the past couple of weeks and return to victory lane late Saturday evening.
