Milwaukee Mile Only NASCAR Truck-Busch Doubleheader on 2005 NCTS Schedule
(West Allis, WI) July 29, 2004 -- The 2005 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule was announced today, and officials of The Milwaukee Mile are excited to bring Wisconsin NASCAR fans the opportunity once again in 2005 to attend a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Busch Series race on the same weekend. It is the only two-series combination weekend on the '05 schedule. Drivers and teams of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series return to America's Legendary Oval on Friday night, June 24, 2005.
"We were overwhelmed with the positive fan reaction to the first NASCAR night race in the history of The 'Mile, and we did everything to give the fans what they've asked for in keeping our race weekend intact for '05," stated Mark Perrone, Vice President & General Manager of the historic speedway. "It's exciting for NASCAR and our dedicated staff at The Milwaukee Mile to have the only Truck Series -Busch Series weekend. We know the teams enjoy coming to Milwaukee. We have already begun to plan ways to exceed the record weekend crowd we hosted this past June for our NASCAR event weekend."
There will be some changes to the series' 2005 schedule, to which NASCAR credits an ongoing effort to reach an increasing NASCAR audience.
"The growth of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series coincides with the opportunity to bring more events to NASCAR fans across America," said Mike Helton, NASCAR's President. "Next year's realignment has created additional positive steps to enhance and expand visibility of the series to the benefit of our teams, tracks, sponsors and television viewers."
SPEED Channel will broadcast all 25 races, along with live MRN Radio coverage of all events, with availability worldwide on XM Satellite Radio.
