REZENDES RESIGNS FROM BODINE TEAM, WILL DRIVE FOR HARDY

Hardy Motorsports has announced the release of driver Lonnie Rush, Jr., from his duties in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Dave Rezendes will be named to replace him at the helm of the Ortho Lawn and Garden Care Products Chevrolet.

Rezendes resigned over the weekend from the Geoff Bodine Motorsports team. Bodine's truck, sponsorless so far this season, will be driven at this weekend's event at Homestead, Fla., by Bodine himself. He won the pole in 1996 at Homestead and led for nine laps before a mid-race accident knocked him out of the race.

Rezendes was the winner of the 1996 race at Homestead, and had three wins in 1996.
