NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Champ in for RWR at Martinsville

Coming off a life-changing season, DJ Kennington, NASCAR's newest National Champion in the Canadian Tire Series, will ride the high into Martinsville, VA with Rick Ware Racing in the #47 Kids Embrace Chevrolet for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kroger 200 from the Martinsville Speedway on Saturday.

"Winning the championship in Canada has been a long road for me, and to finally have that moment, it's indescribable. To have my crew and family there to celebrate the ultimate accomplishment and all those years of hard work is a memory I'll never forget," Kennington explained.

Kennington drove for RWR at Martinsville in the spring of this year. Kennington kept his nose clean, gave valuable feedback to the crew chief, and drove his way to a 17th place finish, a career high in the truck series.

"Rick has helped me in the past, but I've been extremely focused on my goals in Canada. He put me behind the wheel last spring, and we had decent finish. With the championship checked off the list, I'm fully focused on having a great run this weekend," Kennington said.

With the NASCAR Canadian Championship in his rearview, Kennington sets new goals for his career in the states.

"There is a lot in the mix for me in 2011 with Rick Ware Racing and Fuel Doctor. Winning the championship has opened doors for me to do more racing, both back home and in the US. I'm looking forward to running more truck series races and attacking the challenges that come with it. DJIt all starts with a good run this weekend," Kennington said.
