RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY ANNOUNCES FINAL SUPERTRUCK OPEN TEST DATE

RICHMOND, VA - Richmond International Raceway and officials at NASCAR have scheduled one final testing day for all NASCAR licensed SuperTruck teams planning to compete in the September 7, Fas Mart SuperTruck Shootout. The SuperTruck Series by Craftsman test session is set for Wednesday, August 23 with the garage open at 7:00 a.m. Practice begins at 9:00 a.m. and runs until 5:30 p.m.

On June 5 & 6 RIR held a very successful two day SuperTruck open media/ test session, and due to tremendous demand by SuperTruck teams to have some additional testing time, one final day was scheduled.

This is the FINAL day NASCAR SuperTruck teams will be allowed to test prior to the Thursday, September 7, Fas Mart SuperTruck Shootout. The grandstands will open at 9:00 a.m. and admission is free to see an entire day of SuperTruck practice.

Trucks being prepared by Winston Cup team owners like Jack Roush for Winston Cup drivers planning to make a SuperTruck run in Richmond are expected. Drivers leading the SuperTruck Series point standings plan to be at RIR to fine tune their set-ups as well.

Also leading to September's Fas Mart SuperTruck Shootout, Autolite Platinum 250, Miller Genuine Draft 400 weekend, Busch Series hopeful Pete Orr with Ridling Motorsports is testing August 2 & 3. The Raceway also has Busch Series driver Hermie Sadler scheduled to test on August 22.

Winston Cup driver Mike Wallace and the Helig-Meyers crew is scheduled to test August 28 & 29, while Winston Cup driver Michael Waltrip and the Pennzoil bunch will be at RIR August 29 & 30.
