CLAYTON,GA. Powers Motorsports Team Update (Dover)

First time for NCTS running at Dover. Unloaded the truck for practice, Wednseday, and we were running laps with the big guys. After 45-50 laps, we were running 25.90. (14th Fastest) Made minor adjustments and ran a 25.351 on 60-lap tires. Near the end of practice Tom apparently caught some debris just onto the front stretch, and popped the right rear tire. A very long skid and an abrupt stop later, the #5 rested against the pit wall over 2/3 of the way down the front stretch with a somewhat flattened nose. Tom walked away shaken, but not hurt, and the decision was made to call it a day for Dover. The truck, though not damaged severely, was beyond effective repair at the track, so we loaded up and headed home. All in all, the trip was a success, simply by getting Tom some laps, and gaining a little more experience for our growing team and crew. Preparations are underway for the California Speedway race on October 28th.

We are currently in negotiations for additional sponsors for 2001 and we feel confident a deal will be closed in the coming weeks.
