Sauter Steams to Third in Phoenix

Avondale, Ariz. (November 12, 2010) -- Johnny Sauter raced the No. 13 FarmPaint.com/Curb Records Chevrolet to a third-place finish in Friday night's Lucas Oil 150 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Phoenix International Raceway. Sauter never dropped outside the top ten en route to his 13th top-five finish of the 2010 season.

"The 2 and the 18 (race winner Clint Bowyer and runner-up Kyle Busch) were the class of the field here tonight, but I am really proud of the way this truck ran here," Sauter said. "We lost the truck we wanted to run here in a wreck at Martinsville and the guys did a great job getting this one ready. I'd have liked to have had one more restart to see if we could have gotten up there with those guys but we didn't get it. It would have been nice to try to make a run at it but we'll take third place and another top five. We're going to Homestead and planning on closing that gap on the 2 and the 18 and getting another win."

In what was an uneventful night from the driver's seat, Sauter highlighted the efforts of not only his team but the entire ThorSport Racing organization, which put both its trucks in the top five for the sixth time overall and the third consecutive time this season.

"Consistency is the key," Sauter said. "We've been second or third eight times this season, which on one hand is really great but on the other hand it's pretty frustrating. We're proud to be contenders, but we want to be winning. But if we're up there that close, we're bound to get our share. The guys do a great job. We were really good on long runs. We're building momentum so hopefully we'll continue to do that heading into next season. We have a great product on the track and we showed it with both of our trucks in the top five here tonight."

Sauter stands third in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship standings, 64 points behind second-place Aric Almirola and 109 points ahead of Crafton in fourth.

Next up for Sauter and the No. 13 FarmPaint.com/Curb Records Chevrolet is the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Friday November 19.
