Avondale, AZ Bobby Dotter scored his 13th top-15 finish of the 2002 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season by finishing 12th in the Silverado 150 at Phoenix International Raceway on Friday. Dotter and the Stanley Steemer/People Against Drugs Racing team fought a race-long tight condition with their Chevrolet Silverado which kept them from challenging for a top-10 finish.

"We had a very good day, but we are a little disappointed with the finish," said Dotter. "We were pretty excited about our chances to run in the top-10 this weekend, but the clouds rolled in and it just totally changed the racetrack. We were tight, and just never had the chance to loosen it up to get it to the point where we could be more competitive."

Dotter had a good day in the NCTS point standings, gaining 48 points on Lance Norick in their battle for 13th. Norick had engine problems that forced him to a 28th-place finish. Entering the season finale, only 43 points separate the two.

"We had a great points day," Dotter said. "We cut into that gap pretty good. All we can do it do our job and let the chips fall where they may. If we go and run well at Homestead and finish in the top-10, then we will have done our job. It really says a lot about this team to think we are this high up in the points with the limited budget we are on."

The 2002 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series comes to a conclusion next Friday at the Homestead-Miami Speedway with the running of the Ford 200. The race will be shown on ESPN starting at 3:30 pm ET, and can be heard live on NASCAR Radio on XM Satellite Radio and MRN Radio affiliates nationwide starting at 3:00 pm ET.
