Brendan Gaughan and Orleans Racing look forward to returning to old stomping ground

Las Vegas...Brendan Gaughan and Orleans Racing are definitely looking forward to returning to their old stomping ground and the running of the GNC LIVE WELL 200, Round 9 of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, June 28 at the Milwaukee Mile.

"I love racing in Wisconsin," says Gaughan. "It is like old home week for me. I competed in off-road events all over the state, both in CORR and SODA, for a number of years and have tons of friends and fans. It's very much like racing in my home town and knowing that there are a whole bunch of people in the stands rooting for you always adds extra incentive to do well."

Running at the famed Milwaukee Mile last year for the first time, Gaughan qualified in 10th and finished in the Number 4 spot. "I really like this track," says Gaughan. "It is definitely a driver's style course. You have to drive it in and dance it around the middle and it really suits my style of racing. Our team has been giving me really great Dodges at every race and this weekend won't be any different. They build them to be strong at the end and that makes a big difference. We will be using our No 6 Dodge, the one we call 'Lefty Low'. We ran it at Martinsville earlier this year and it should definitely do the trick."

Currently ranked in 4th in the overall point standings, Gaughan has so far taken one win (Texas Motor Speedway), a second at Charlotte, a third at both Bakersfield and Darlington and a top 10 at Daytona and Memphis.

"A year of experience has made a big difference," says Gaughan, who earned both the 2000 and 2001 NASCAR Winston West Championships and took the Raybestos Rookie of the Year title last season. "We now have one of the most together teams in the Series and it really shows. "We are definitely in the hunt for the championship and we are going to stay there. While we always want to win, our focus is to get consistent top finishes every time. If we can do that, we will greatly increase our odds of achieving our goal of bringing home this year's championship for Dodge."
