Peters at Michigan...The VFW 200 will mark Timothy Peters' fourth start at Michigan International Speedway. In this event last season, Peters earned his first top-10 finish at the 2-mile oval. In that event, he started 18th and battled his way to an eighth place finish. Michigan International Speedway is one of Peters' favorite tracks on the Truck Series circuit and this weekend he will pilot a brand new chassis. So far this season, he has earned six top-10 finishes in only eight races. Four of those top-10's came on intermediate tracks.
Anniversary Weekend...This Saturday's race at Michigan International Speedway marks one full year Timothy Peters has piloted the #17 Toyota Tundra for Red Horse Racing. His first event behind the wheel for Red Horse was the MIS race in 2009. Last weekend in Texas, Peters ran his 25th race for RHR, completing one full season. The VFW 200 will mark his 26th start for RHR and the 76th Camping World Truck Series start of his career.
Still In The Hunt...Peters seems to be back on track for his 2010 Championship run after two top-10 finishes in the past two events. Earning a 10th place finish at Charlotte and a seventh place finish at Texas, Peters and the #17 team have turned their luck around. Right now he sits third in the Camping World Truck Series driver point standings, just 135 points behind the leader. The #17 Tundra sits fifth in Owner point standings, 135 points back.
Timothy Peters on racing at Michigan International Speedway "Michigan is one of my favorite tracks to race on. I love the multiple grooves and the exciting door to door racing that you get from that. It's been a year since I joined Red Horse and that's really special. This has been a great opportunity for me and I'd love to get Tom DeLoach a win this weekend as a thank you for taking a chance on me."
Jeff Hensley on racing at Michigan International Speedway "I've had some good runs at Michigan in the past. Last year, when I was at Xpress Motorsports, I think we had a truck that could win the race but we got wrecked. I feel confident in our set-up and the chassis we are taking this weekend. I would expect us to contend for the win. We have been running well at these intermediate tracks and getting better each win. I think a win is just around the corner."
Equipment Information Timothy Peters will compete with chassis #132 in the VFW 200 at Michigan International Speedway. This is a brand new chassis.
