Bliss saw his Memphis efforts derailed early in the race when his Chevrolet lost power on Lap 23. A pair of pit stops put the Milwaukie, OR driver five laps down to the field. Over the next 175 circuits, Bliss made up all of the laps as his IWX Chevy was easily one of the fastest trucks on the racetrack. At the finish, Bliss had rallied from 34th to 18th in the running order.
"I guess the battery somehow disconnected. This is a good race team. We have a great truck every race and today, this truck was one of the best trucks you could ever drive at this racetrack. It's unfortunate we went down five laps because I think we could have won this race. I know that I've made up two laps before in a race, but never five. I wish we had gotten one more lap back because we would have been racing for the win at the end. That's the way it went, we can't change it. We were fortunate to finish. I know we took a hit in the points. We took a hit in the points last week. We can't be giving points away anymore. We want to win this championship. I guess you build on this time of stuff."
