Strange malady leaves Crafton 21st in Memphis.

MILLINGTON, Tenn. -- After twice racing into second position, Matt Crafton and the No. 88 Menards/ColorPave Chevrolet were struck by a mysterious malady that caused the engine to quit producing full power. The problem eventually cost Crafton a lap to the leaders and left him 21st in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Memphis Motorsports Park Saturday, June 22. Travis Kvapil won the race.

"Pretty disappointing to come out of here 21st," Crafton said. "We had a top-five truck. Don't know what happened. The engine started spitting and sputtering. After a lap or two, it would finally start running again. It was strange.

"We'll get back home and figure it out. This is a brand new truck, one we built ourselves in the shop. I really like it. I want to race it again next week in Milwaukee."

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series continues with the GNC Live Well 200 at the Milwaukee Mile Saturday, June 29.
