Chassis No. 115: This chassis was driven to a second-place finish by Kasey Kahne at Martinsville in the spring race last year. Recently Riggs tested this car at Lakeland.

On Martinsville:
"We are going to Martinsville this weekend and shooting to sit on the pole again and run up front during the race so we can get ourselves further inside the top 35 in points. Finishing 41st in Bristol was tough but getting that much damage early in the race from checking up to avoid someone else's wreck was really unlucky and of our control, that's why I have nothing but confidence in this Valvoline Evernham Racing team. We will just keep doing what we are doing, putting quality race cars on the track every weekend. Our bad luck is going to take care of itself. "

On this week's two-day tire test at Lowe's Motor Speedway:
"It's fast but that's because the new paving job is so smooth with a lot of grip. The race will be faster but I absolutely don't think we need restrictor plates, which would be a bad decision. I think we will break the track record, but that's qualifying. Anytime we come to a track with a new surface that seems to happen. It's a smooth surface, with a lot of grip, and we have tires we can lean on so the qualifying record will probably be broken but not by any huge amount."

QUICK FACTS

* Sunday's race will mark Riggs's fifth NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway. His best start and finish at the track came in last year's spring race when he collected his career-first pole award and finished 21st.

* In four starts at Martinsville, Riggs has earned $350,500 and completed 99.6 percent of the laps.

* Thanks to Valvoline Evernham Racing's 35th-place ranking in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series owners' points, Riggs is guaranteed a starting spot in Sunday's race at Martinsville.

* Riggs participated in a two-day Goodyear tire test at the newly-paved Lowe's Motor Speedway this week.
