Timothy Peters on his first race at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway: "It looks like South Boston but it surely will not drive like it. I am looking forward to going up there to somewhere that is close to the type of racetracks I learned on, the grass roots of late model short track racing, so that part will be fun. We ran good at St. Louis and we ran good at Martinsville, so we have had good runs going on the shorter tracks this year. We just need to get all the bugs worked out and we will be ready to go."
On short track racing mentality: "Close proximity, side by side racing is what I grew up with. If they don't get out of your way you just knock them out of the way. That can help or it can hurt. I got a little too aggressive at Martinsville and that cost us a top ten and possibly a top five. We will go into Mansfield with a little different mindset, just to come out of there in one piece. Right now this Dodge Motorsports team needs a good run. Lately it seems like the drivers who are aggressive get into trouble somehow, and those of us who try to be patient get caught up in something as well. It's hard to determine the right strategy."
How important is it for this team to get a good run or even a win at Mansfield? "This team just needs a little good luck right now. A good run or a win in Mansfield would mean the world to this team and to me. A win would be just what the doctor ordered. We know what we are capable of as a team. These guys have continued to work their tails off on this Dodge Motorsports Dodge to try and give us the best chance to be successful and I appreciate their efforts. A really good run this week would be huge for this team."
