Colin Braun on racing at Mansfield:
"I've never been to Mansfield, but I've heard a lot about it. I think self-preservation might be the goal for the weekend there. I ran the Nationwide race at Memphis last year where they had 25 cautions for 117 laps so I'm familiar with the beating and banging on short tracks. Unfortunately I was in some of the cautions in that race, but this weekend I hope to stay up front, stay out of trouble and literally keep my nose clean. Qualifying will be important so you can start up front and avoid the inevitable mid-pack wrecks."
Crew chief Mike Beam on racing at Mansfield:
"Colin did a heck of a job at Martinsville back in March, so I expect him to do well at Mansfield too. We need to do our job in the pits to keep him up front and out of trouble. Bobby (Hudson, spotter) and I will both be reminding him to be patient throughout the race. It's a long race when you are trying to keep the fenders on it for 250 laps."
John Wes Townley on racing at Mansfield:
"I've raced at Mansfield before in the Hooters Pro Cup Series last year and ran pretty good. I really had a knack for that track at that point in time. I think it will be a good place to debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
"My expectations at Mansfield would be a good day in practice, a decent qualifying lap and a top- 15 finish in the race. I'm going to go in confident, but at the same time, you can't expect too much because the competition is so good at this level. But I'm confident about this race. A top-15 finish at the end of the day, I would be happy with that."
Crew chief Chad Norris on racing at Mansfield:
"This will be John Wes' first start in the truck series so our goal is to get him as many laps as possible in practice to get him comfortable with the track and the truck. It will help that he raced there last year so he should already have a pretty good feel for the track. We've tested with him at Martinsville and Caraway just to give him some seat time in a truck. Hopefully we'll have good weather Friday so we don't lose any practice time."
Erik Darnell on racing at Mansfield Motorsports Park:
"Mansfield is a track that reminds me a lot of Martinsville. It's a place where track position plays such an important part throughout the entire race. With Mansfield being a short track, it's difficult to pass unless you are up near the front. I would like for us to get our pit stops out of the way early in the race, so we can focus on staying up front. We had a great run last week in Charlotte and I hope we can carry that type of performance into Mansfield."
Crew chief Matt Puccia on racing at Mansfield Motorsports Park:
"Our best bet to come away this weekend with a top-five finish would be for Erik to roll center during the race. If we don't, it's going to be tough to make up any kind of ground. I cannot stress enough how critical track position will be come Saturday afternoon. After a great finish last week in Charlotte, the team is finally showing some confidence heading into six consecutive weeks of racing."
