The UAW-GM Ohio 250 marks Rick Crawford's 204th consecutive NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start. Crawford's impressive string of starts, a series record, has earned him the nickname 'Ironman'.
"I really enjoyed racing at Mansfield last year," said Crawford, a three-time winner in the Series. "It's a typical short track and it was packed with fans. There isn't a lot of room to race which makes it very exciting. Like most drivers, I started racing on short tracks and always look forward to returning to them."
Rick Crawford scored his first top five finish of the 2005 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season with a solid fifth place finish on April 30 at Gateway International Raceway. It marked the Mobile, AL native's 47th career top five finish.
On May 14, Rick Crawford will serve as the celebrity auctioneer for the Trackside Charity Auction being held at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway at 3:00 p.m.
"I'm honored to be part of this worthwhile event," said Crawford, driver of the No. 14 Circle Bar Truck Corral Ford. "It benefits a great cause and will be a lot of fun for the fans. I've never served as an auctioneer before and I hope I can talk as fast as I drive."
Trackside Charity Auction is an independent grassroots organization dedicated to fund-raising through the sale of donated items by NASCAR teams. Victory Junction Gang Camp has been selected as the worthy beneficiary of this event.
Rick Crawford will sign autographs and greet fans on May 13 from 7:00-8:00 pm at the Mansfield (OH) Downtown Festival. The event will provide fans the opportunity to meet the drivers and see the transporters of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
In preparation for the UAW-GM Ohio 250 at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway, Rick Crawford and the Circle Bar Truck Corral Racing team tested its No. 14 Ford F-150 truck at South Boston Speedway on May 9-10.
